VTech Toys get seal of approval

In 1990, The National Parenting Center created a Seal of Approval program to celebrate the best in educational toys. Why do we like this system? Because both kids and their parents get to comment on whether a toy is worthy or not. Yesterday, VTech(R) announced that six of its infant and preschool learning toys had received the 2014 Seal of Approval.

It took 10 weeks of intensive parent and child testing to decide if these toys were up to the Seal’s standards, and VTech are understandably pleased with the result:
“We are proud to receive this special recognition from The National Parenting Center,” said William To, President, VTech Electronics North America. “These awards are a testament to our reputation for producing diverse, educational products that parents and kids can enjoy together at every age and developmental stage.”

The President of The National Parenting Center agress: “VTech’s products received top praise from both our parent and child testers for their innovative and illuminating qualities that engage children of all ages while helping them learn. These six products exemplify VTech’s standing as a leader of electronic learning platforms and showcase the impressive depth of the company’s product ranges.”

So what made the cut? The ones VTech list use their US brand names, but here are what we Brits know them as:

1. Baby Turn and Learn Cube:
A fantastic cube to keep little hands busy and minds active – for 6-36months.
2. Pre-School Touch and Teach Tablet:
Helps form writing skills before they get to school – for 3-6years.
3. Switch and Go Dinos T-Rex Launcher:
In all honesty, I can’t figure out this but it’s a car/dinosaur and my son’s eyes glowed when he saw it in Hamleys… for 3-8year olds.
4. Go! Go! Smart Wheels® Airport Playset:
While more expensive, this is a very cool toy – the airport reacts to the plane’s location with music, speech and noises, and can be combined with the other Smart Wheels playsets. For ages 1-5.
