Cycling with kids is great fun! Kids love getting out and about on their bikes and a family cycle is a popular way to spend some quality time together whilst getting some much needed exercise. Summer is by far the best time to get on a bike and enjoy the country side.

Easy Family Cycle Routes Routes

We have some fantastic cycling days out for you. Each route is both beautiful and fun.

Cotswolds – Tetbury to Sherston, England

Under an hours drive away from Bristol, this quaint family cycle on the west coast of England takes you through on a pleasant cycle through the countryside. There is loads to see and do in both Tetbury and Sherston, why not pay a visit to Beverstone Castle? In total this cycle will take 2 hours there and back.

Llandegla Forest, Wales

Llandegla Forest is a complex network of cycling trials in the North West of Wales. This complex offers a serries of different trails from beginers to adept cyclists. There are four major trails: Green (3 miles), Blue (7.5 miles), Red (11 miles), and Black (13 miles). All of the routes are easy and family friendly. We would recommend the Blue or Red trail for families who have been on a few cycles together. The Green trail is a perfect place to have your first family cycle and the Black trail is suitable for those families that are more adventurous. The Green trail will take up to an hour, Blue trail will take up to two hours, Red will take up to two and a half hours and the black could take as long as three hours.

Cumbria – Coniston to Little Langdale, England

Starting off next to the Coniston Water, this trail tumble through the Lake District hillside. The cycle then finished of in valley of Little Langdale. Little Langdale is a small hamlet with only a few structures so don’t forget to pack a lunch! Take in this breathtaking scenery with the kids and make sure to pop into the lake for a swim. The cycle path around here are well kept and this easy cycle will take 2 and a half hour.

Caledonia Canal – Fort William, Scotland

Setting out from the Neptune’s Staircase Car Park, Banavie this route takes you on a route along the Caledonian Canal passing by Fort William and Gairlochy. Why not pop into the Treasures of the Earth Museum to break up the day. As one of the longer family trails, this cycle will take a maximum of 3.5 hours.
