The 11th Doctor Who Toys 2010

Forbidden Planet will be launching four highly detailed action figures from Doctor Who episodes “The End of Time Part One & Two” on 31st January and they are already best sellers.

The four 5” figures comprise the disheveled and injured Tenth Doctor with the Sonic Screwdriver and the newly regenerated Eleventh Doctor in a smarter version of the Tenth Doctor’s suit also with the Sonic Screwdriver. There are also realistic action figures depicting The Master, played by John Simm, back in dark and dusty clothes and The Narrator, played by Timothy Dalton, in Time Lord robes and holding his staff.

HM Armed Forces Toys

The new HM Armed Forces toys are based on the real factions of the British Army, with input from the Ministry of Defence. The figures come in ranges of army, RAF and Navy and are based on the real soldiers of today. The Army range of detailed 10 inch action figures are based on the Infantry regiments. They are fully articulated and their battle vehicles are available too, including the Tactical Battle tank, based on the real Challenger 2.

The Royal Navy range includes figures of a Royal Navy Diver and Royal Marines Commandos, while the RAF squad even includes a Falcons Parachutist and Fast Jet Pilot.

Available now from Character-Online, the figures start from just £14.99, and range right up to the real working night vision goggles for £99.99. The idea of kitting pre-teen boys out with night vision goggles is probably something you should carefully consider though….

Any fan of the new Doctor Who will know about “The Journal of Impossible Things”. It’s a dream diary, containing notes and sketches by the Tenth Doctor’s human persona, John Smith. Full of scribbled ’stories’ and charcoal sketches, the Doctor recorded dreams of adventures as the Doctor, including the ‘magic box’, better known as the Tardis!

Clone wars bust ups

Star Wars lives again in the animated Clone Wars on the Cartoon Network and on DVD, and now Forbidden Planet has all of the merchandise to match. ‘Bust-ups’ are the latest way to bring the animation home – standing 2-3 inches tall, the minature sculptures are based on the 25-episode series Clone Wars. The series told tales of several battles including an assault on the banking clan on Munnilist, the kidnapping of Chancellor Palpatine, and an amazing battle between General Grievous and a gunship filled with ARC Troopers.

There are 2 collections available, the Clone Trooper set with Saesee, and the set with Saesee Unmasked. Contained in both collections are four different versions of the infamous Clone Troopers and also a new piece: Jedi Saesee Tiin. They come in several plastic pieces which fit together like a kit (glue not required)
